Bob
Barnes Bob served two years as first vice president and program chairman of the Anne Arundel County Genealogical Society. He has contributed numerous articles and book reviews to genealogical and historical periodicals. He is currently the "Verifying Genealogist" for The Society of the Cincinnati in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also serves as a proof reader for the Maryland Historical Magazine, reviewing articles submitted for publication. Bob is the author of many source books, compiled family histories and guides, including Maryland Marriages, 1634-1777; Maryland Marriages, 1778-1800; Maryland Marriages, 1801-1820; Baltimore County Families, 1659-1759; and Guide to Research in Baltimore City and County. His most recent works are two volumes of British Roots of Maryland Families and Maryland Marriage Evidences, 1634-1718 published by the Genealogical Publishing Company (and available from Colonial Roots). Bob has taught courses in genealogical research for adult-education programs at various schools and colleges in the area, as well as senior-citizen centers and retirement communities in Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties. He has given many lectures at genealogical conferences, seminars, and one-day programs in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and at the National Genealogical Society.
