Pamela
Pearson
Pam graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree
in Mathematics and spent the next 28 years working for Southwestern Bell, and
subsequently AT&T, in a variety of management positions. Inspired
by the 1976 Bicentennial, and the book "Roots", Pam began researching
her family history 30 years ago. She was fortunate enough to attend her first
genealogy class in Washington DC under the tutelage of Milton Rubincam. Pam's
research has taken her into many of the states east of the Mississippi. Now
that she has retired, she spends time traveling to many of the areas where her
ancestors lived and getting to 'know them' on a more personal level. Since many
of them were among the first pioneers into various states, she is particularly
interested in studying extended families and groups that migrated together.
Pam is a member of the Lancaster County (PA) Historical Society, the Lancaster
Mennonite Historical Society, and the Family History Interest Group of Somerset
County (NJ). She is also a member of the First Families of the Twin Territories,
and serves as Registrar for her local DAR chapter.
Last
but not least, she is "mom" to her 22-year old son.
